QR Codes
QR (quick response) codes are 2 dimensional bar codes that transfer information via mobile phone barcode readers.
More and more major companies are using QR codes to brand and advertise – including Tescos, WalMart, Starbucks, Pepsi, Groupon, Best Buy, Ralph Lauren etc.
QR codes store a lot of data; the codes simplify the user experience by allowing them to scan instead of manually typing the information – such as business name, address, phone, email, website, opening hours, prices etc ; most Smart phones have QR scanners incorporated (or they can be downloaded).
QR codes are highly cost effective and there are hundreds of great ways you can use them – here’s just a few….
Car dealers could put a QR code on their vehicles, so that even when the dealership is closed, visitors could access full details of the cars. Retail businesses could show a QR code on a window poster giving details of the business plus special deals.
You can put QR codes on all advertising materials such as business cards, tee shirts, flyers, signs……way cheaper than print costs. Put a QR code on say, an item in your shop window. Let’s say it’s a coat selling at £200 – the scanned code will give the consumer details of the material, whether it’s washable, other colours available, etc.
Estate agents can put a QR code alongside the property details – taking the user to the actual webpage showing a video tour of that particular house, also linked to a page with a map showing local schools etc.
