Small Business Invisible Websites

Many websites are a waste of time and money. Why?

There are two main issues here..

Websites built in-house

(generally by the business owner or his kids!) using one of the editing programmes such as Frontpage, Dreamweaver, NVU etc. The programmes themselves are great but most times the owner is concerned with how it looks on screen and he spends countless hours tinkering with page colours, fonts and other trivia – ignoring the important issues totally.

Websites built by web design companies

Here the business owner thinks that this is the answer to his prayers -hand over a big chunk of money and let these specialists produce what they think is right. Many times they design a pretty little site with flash banners and a few other whistles and bells.

But, in both of the above scenarios the result is pretty much the same. The website sits up there looking pretty but producing zero for the business – nada, nothing, zilch….

There are millions and millions of websites sitting on the world wide web – that informational super highway – but no one sees them.

In fact, it’s almost too easy to build a website.

But it’s a very different proposition to build a website that gets seen!
